He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Schmalzbauer and Florence Schmalzbauer; and his brothers-in-law, Harry Basaraba and Joe Kurylowich. He is survived by: his children, Leslie Cummings (Denis) and Justin Schmalzbauer; his wife Ellen Schmalzbauer (Gilbertson); his sons, Colton Schmalzbauer and Benjamin Schmalzbauer; his grandchildren, Ethan, Lilliana and Anastasia Cummings; and his sisters, Vivian Basaraba, Phyllis Harty (Conrad), Selma Kurylowich and Judy Millar (Ernie Sheridan). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless extended family and friends.
