He was predeceased by: his parents, Bella Charles and Edward Charles; his parents-in-law, Caroline and Solomon Ross; his grandson Randy Cedric Ross; and his brother Cornelius Charles.

He is survived by: his wife Betsy Ross; his children, Jean Venne (Ronnie Ross), Victoria Ross (Andrew Ross) and Annie Ross; his grandchildren, Solomon Abel Ross (Roxanne), Rickey Ross and Tony Ross; his siblings, William T. Charles (Lillian Charles), Harvey L Charles, Charlie Charles, Victor Charles, Melinda McLeod (Ervin McLeod) and Jean Ratt; his great grandchildren, Azura Charles, Jeptha Ross, Tony Ross III, Jean Betsy Ross, Dalton Ross, Cassandra Ross and Carter Ross; and his child Sandra Halkett of Brian Ross. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
