He was predeceased by : his parents, Abel Venne and Evelyne Venne; his wife Maryann Venne; his sister Jillian Clinton; his grandchildren, Wanda Venne, Johnathan Thimpsen, Johnny Venne Jr. and Abel Adam Venne; his parents-in-law, Jean Victoria Ross and John Stanley Ross; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Ross and Myles Sanderson.

He is survived by : his children, Sally Bear (Alex McKenzie), Joe Ross (Patricia Ross), Georgina Venne, Abel Venn (Elizabeth Venne) and Alvin Venne (Larissa Natomagan); his siblings, Annie Venne (Isaiah Ross), Tony Venne, Jean Ross (Solomon Ross), Roy Venne (Josephine Venne), Roger Venne (Rachel Venne), Betsy Dorian (Robert Dorian), Cathy Venne (Jody Evans), Frankie Venne, Dorothy Venne and Phyllis Venne (Charlie McKenzie); his sisters-in-law, Mary Ross and Lillian Beatty; and his close friends, James Ross (Tucky) and Kitchener Halkett (Prince Lard). He is also survived by Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
