He was predeceased by : his daughter Trisha Lynn; his siblings, Terry, Virginia Ballantyne, Jack P. Custer, Edward Noah and Jonas Ballantyne; his parents, Thomas and Annie; his grandparents, Daniel, Maggie, Eliza and Horace Sewap; his nephews, Theodore Beatty, Warren Ballantyne, Theodore Sewap and Darren Custer II; and his aunt Florence Beatty.

He is survived by : his wife Mary N. Ballantyne; his children, Moses (Erin), Darrell, Inez, Derek (Rene), Shawna (Matthew), Melanie, Terry, Pauline (Paget), Cameron and Holly; his adoptive children, Mitchell, Gaylene and Ralph Jr.; and his siblings, Bernice (Larry), Donald, Donna (John), Gloria (Darren I), David, Nancy, Daniel, George T. Eninew, Eugene Ballantyne, Roland and Margaret Beatty-Ballantyne. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins; his hunting friends.
