He was predeceased by : his brother Jamie Mercer; his mother Beverley Mercer; and his grandparents, Ed, Lily Moylan, Mary and Chester Mercer.

He is survived by : his sons, Damien Mercer and Kyle Mercer; his grandchild Caden; his father James Mercer; and his siblings, Greg Mercer, Jason Mercer (Nicole), Minda Kloekes and Shauna Rempel (Merl). He is also survived by nephews and relatives.
