He was predeceased by: his daughters, Serena Mitsuing and Kori Gervais; his grandchildren, Tiffany Checkosis, Hurley, Isaiah Mitsuing and Nevada Bearboy; his parents, Mary Mooswa and Johnny Mooswa; and his siblings, Mary Rose Mooswa, Alex Mooswa, Thomas Mooswa, Leo Gilbert Mooswa, Josephine Mooswa, Alice Mooswa and Jeanna Mooswa.

He is survived by: his significant other Edna Mooswa; his children, Beverly Chief (Dewey), Esme Brown (Melvin Defraine), Glenda Scarlett, Albertine Chief, Arnold Mitsuing (Lana), Angeline Mitsuing and Denny Mooswa (Rhonda Netmaker); his adoptive daughter Tanya Mooswa (Oliver); and his siblings, Cecile Mooswa, Gloria Mooswa, Lillian Frenchman (Arnold) and Robert Mooswa. He is also survived by 48 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
