She was predeceased by : her parents, Jack Bernesky and Katie Bernesky; her husband Harvey Melvin; her daughters, Sherry and Gwen; and her former life partner Ray Barks.

She is survived by : her son John (Dawn); her close friend Harvey Nielsen; her niece Kim (Ken); her friend Gail; her siblings, Hilda and Larry; and also Heather. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
