He was predeceased by: his wife Lylia; his parents, John Archibald and Doris Archibald; his brother Charlie Archibald; his in-laws, Charles and Iola Armstrong; and his siblings-in-law, Grace Gunter, Frank Armstrong, Don Kager, Floyd Gunter and Frank Massier.

He is survived by: his children, Kelly Reichert (Brian), Kerry Archibald and James Archibald; his grandchildren, Krystal, Amanda, Timothey James, Tanya, April, Victor (Stephanie Paul), Landon John Lummerding, Zackary Lummerding (Kaylie Dickens) and Brandon Lee (Mel Koturbash); his great grandchildren, Dawson, Grayson, Willow, Weston, Lennix, Olivia, Akaylah, Ryder and Jaxlie; his sisters, Lorraine Massier and Gail Kager; and his sister-in-law Clara Armstrong. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made in James' name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
