He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathias Ulmer (Matt) and Philippina Ulmer; his sisters, Emily Steffan, Caroline and Phyllis; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Steffan, Art Volke, Gerald Schill, Mike Evanishen, Richard Litzenberger, Emily Steffen, Lorraine Litzenberger and Florence Ulmer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ulmer; his siblings, John Ulmer, Lillian Volke and Florence Schill; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Evanishen and Gordon Steffen; his niece Lorie Chambers (Anthony); and his granddaughters, Shastyna Chambers and Joely Chambers. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
