He was predeceased by: his parents, Wasyl Pankiw and Kateryna Pankiw (Bekesh); his siblings, Nick (Mary), John (Catherine Pankiw), Mary (George Petriw) and Olga (Peter Kozey); his brothers-in-law, Brent Simmons and Mike Baran; and his nephews, Douglas Simmons, David Petriw and Jerry Pankiw.

He is survived by: his daughter Amanda (Paul Story); and his siblings, Linda Simmons, Russel (Rosalie) and Darlene Baran. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in memory of Mike may be made to the Alzheimers Society or Ducks Unlimited Canada as gifts of remembrance.
