He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elsie Appel; his parents, John Appel and Margaret Appel; his daughters, Mary, Lena and Margaret; his grandson Mitchell Hollinger; his sister Alvina Bernhardt; his siblings-in-law, Tony Exner, Ed Beutel, Adam Beutel, Lavern Graff and Violet Graff; his children, Ernie Appel (Laurie), Patricia Bauldic (Peter), Kathy Appel, Debbie Hollinger (Gilbert) and Bernie Nowoselski (Wayne); his siblings, Agnes Exner, Jack Appel (Gloria) and Ray Appell (Marlene); and his brother-in-law Zach Bernhardt (Eleanor). He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
