He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Kowal and Mary Kowal; his grandparents, Peesane, Victor and Agnes Kozial; and his brother Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Shumlanski; his sons, Tracy (Sheila) and Rick (Lorraine); his granddaughter Shaelyn; and his sister-in-law Selena Kowal. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
