He was predeceased by: his parents, Zaccheus Steckler and Eva Steckler; and his siblings, Hilda Makellky (Bernard), Freda Ward (Robert), Cathren Steckler, Walter Steckler (Edith), Marie Woods (Frank), Rose Greene and George Steckler (Marge).

He is survived by: his wife Marina; his children, Becky (Greg Makellky), Bonnie (Nelson Maldonado) and Dale Steckler (Hillary); and his great grandchildren, Justin Makellky, Deanne, Vincent, Theo, Charlotte, Eva, Stephanie Makellky, Kalvin Makellky (Amy), Mark Maldonado (Raquel), Patricia (John Vadasz), Cedric Maldonado, Cindi Maldonado, Jamie (Jason McGillivray), Kenton Steckler (Ashlee), Megan Steckler and Ryan Steckler (Skye Sitler). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
