He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Margaret (Tosh); his wife Alta; and his siblings, Isabelle Geddes Fyvie, Tomson "Tom" James Fyvie, William Gordon "Gord" Fyvie and Patrick "Pat" Ian Fyvie.

He is survived by: his sons, Bill and Cam (Shauna Hudson); his grandchildren, Jon, Andrew and Caroline; his great grandchildren, Isabelle, Michael and Aaron; and his pet Buddy.
