She was predeceased by : her husband Wilmer; her parents, George and Elena; and her siblings, Dan, Bill, Gus, Pete, John, Nick, Mary Henrikson, Margaret Skarbon, Laura and Virginia.

She is survived by : her children, Shirley Thompson (Dennis), Loreen Shmanka (Rick), Lee Stubel (Doug) and Kelvin Catling (Darlene); and her sisters-in-law, Donna Papuc and Leaila Papuc. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

As an expression of sympathy, donation in Laura's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
