He was predeceased by : his parents, William Lawrence and Lyla Lawrence; his siblings, Viola Robinson, Phyllis Hellings, Elsie Straub and Stan; his close friend Sylvia Gooding; and his sister-in-law Mildred Lawrence.

He is survived by : his daughter Sheryl LaRochelle (Randy); his granddaughters, Natasha (Corey), Marissa and Mariah; and his great grandchildren, Kylie and Kaylee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and one cousin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James's name to a charity of one's choice.
