He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Smith and Mary Smith; his wife Marg Beliveau; and his brother Jack Smith. He is survived by: his children, Paul Schmidt (Janet) and Barbara Schmidt (Darvin); his stepdaughter Giselle Prosser (Andrew); the mother of his children Donna McBurney; his grandchildren, Jaymes Schmidt, Austin Schmidt, Carter Schmidt, Shelby Prosser, Thomas Prosser and Megan Harden; his siblings, Rob Smith (Vel) and Marion Jones; his nieces, Pattie Hackett, Leah and Maddie Ryan; and his nephew Michael Jones.
