He was predeceased by: his parents, Elise Maruska and Martin Maruska; his daughter Connie Maruska; his sister Rita Wall; and his parents-in-law, Dorothy and Leonard Porter.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Maruska; his children, Sheila Maruska, Laurie Thibert (Mike), Debra Windsor (Rick), Janice (Scott), Darren (Michelle) and Kirk (Jody); and his grandchildren, Adrien Thibert, Paul Thibert, Nelson Windsor (Sarah), Aleah Hearn (Dane), Jenna Windsor, Nicola Kornelsen (Timo), Aaron Maruska, Cassey Patsack (Tyler), Chelsey Tyshynski, Denym Maruska, Braydon Maruska (Tatum), Kaylee Williams (Adam) and Jaicee Maruska. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (1064 3 Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK S6H3T9).
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Johnny's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200-325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5 or to a charity of one's choice.
