He was predeceased by: his parents, Aurora Hochban and Johann Hochban; his siblings, Frank, Maggie and Trudy; and his stepsiblings, John and Agnes.

He is survived by: his siblings, Louise (Don) and Jim; his wife Eleanor; his children, Gary (Helen), Lynly (Darin) and Brenda (Grant); his grandchildren, Crystal (Les), Evan (Courtney), Kali (Dan), Taylor and Isabelle; his great grandchildren, Cody (Kylee), Tonisia (Cody), Tyran, Stevie, Xander, Zyra, Oaklann and Palmer; his great great grandchildren, Branson, Bentley, Brynlee, Lincoln and Vienna; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Moerike (Don) and Kelly Engler (Kathy).
