He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Fissel and Elsie Fissel; his sister Anita; and his brothers-in-law, Clifford, Roy, Lester and Gavin Mohns.

He is survived by: his wife Myrna; his sister Bev Wagner (Gordon); his siblings-in-law, Betty Griffen (Tony), Bernice Graham and Alvin Griffin; and his friend Moose Jaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
