She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Mark Bateman; her daughter Tami; her parents, Adolf Kempin and Edith Kempin; her daughters, Tamara and Azure Bateman; her granddaughter June; her daughter Marsha Hein (Kelly); her grandchildren, Landon and Hayley; her siblings, Elaine Kempin, Jennifer Allison (Lyndon) and Torrey Kempin (Shannon); her parents-in-law, Fred and Evelyn Bateman; and also Edith Kempin. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Moosomin & District Healthcare Foundation, Box 1470, Moosomin, or to Multiple Myeloma Canada, in memory of Laverne.
