He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruth Bobier; his wife Florence Downton; his children, Kelvin Downton and Glenda Downton; his daughter-in-law Judy Downton; his son Edwin Ferguson; his brother Ed Downton; his granddaughter Patty Flahr; his siblings, Stanley Downton and Marge Sherman; and his father Charles Henry Downton. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
