He was predeceased by: his wives, Vivian Pringnitz and Sally Bell; his significant other Joan Larson; and his parent Minnesotan. He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Sizer of British Columbia; his grandchildren, Jared (Sharyn), Kalon (Janice), Roman (Christine) and Rhiannon (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Mercedes, Lexus and Phineas.
