He was predeceased by: his daughter Veronica Thompson; his parents, Caroline Opissinow and Albert Waskewitch; his siblings, John George Opissinow, Tomas Opissinow, Jerome Fredrick'Jerry'Opissinow, Daniel Opissinow, Julia Opissinow and Justine Carter; and his grandsons, Keegan Dufresne, Keelin Dufresne and Baby Boy Dufresne.

He is survived by: his wife Ethel Thompson; his children, Valentina (Leslie), Vanora (Dwayne), Sam (Noella), Darlene and Marlene; his foster daughter Selina (Conroy); his adoptive son Dwayne; his pet Kristen; his son-in-law Eugene Dufresne; his siblings, Victoria Pahtayken, Leona Cook (Gordon), Leo Opissinow (Coreen) and Elaine Fox (Leonard); his sister-in-law Florence Opissinow; and his niece Myrna Waskewitch.
