He was predeceased by: his sons, Brendan Ray and Lindsay "Poppins" Gopher; his parents, George Desjarlais and Louise Desjarlais; his in-laws, Peter and Christine Brass; his siblings, Ray, Mervin, Ken, Clayton, Lawrence Desjarlais and Daisy; his brothers-in-law, Armand, Brian Papequash and Brian Cappo; and his sons-in-law, Dylan Dubois and Lyndon Toto.
He is survived by: his wife Delvine Kaiswatum; his children, Rachel (Jason), Renae (Greg), April (Adam), Ashley, Shelley (Nevada), Vicky (Tyson), Shania, Tanisha (Keyono), Vernon Jr. (Evelyn), Daniel (Ashley), Nathan (Kayla), Shannahan (Lynessa) and Brent; his siblings, Joseph, Steve, Harold, Calvin, Joan and Vera; and his nephew Claude Friday. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM and on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Piapot Band Hall.
