She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Covlin and Nellie Covlin; her brothers, Bob, Nyles and Morley Covlin; her granddaughter Amy Jane MacDonald; and her great grandchild Charlie Felix Barzeele.

She is survived by: her husband Bill Howden; her daughters, Patsy Massey (Ken) of Kindersley, SK, Marion Hudey (Brad) of White City, SK, Sheila McDougall (Loren) of Pilot Butte, SK and Wilma MacDonald (John) of Miramichi, NB; and her siblings, Lavonne Thue of Vermilion, AB, Joyce Haines of Vermilion, AB, Gladys Hill of Regina, SK, Charlotte Blanchard of Fort Nelson, BC and Frank Covlin of Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. She is also survived by 45 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
