He is survived by: his children, Kishey Pisim Ahenakew, Sekwun Achak Ahenakew (Reilly Checkosis), Utin Awasis Ahenakew, Kimowan Kisik Ahenakew (Gabrial Poorman) of Saskatoon, SK, Mahekan Awasis Ahenakew (Colby Calliou) and Anna Masuskapoe of Cold Lake, AB; his grandchildren, Sakihikawa Pīsim Ahenakew-Baker, Katipiskaw Wotahk Baker, Ahasiw Piyesiwin Baker, Okichitaw Kimaw Ahenakew, Lance Nipaweew Okemaysim, Mikwaskwaw Ahenakew, Yotin, Arlyn Ahenakew, Mikisiw Ahenakew, Kisikaw Piyesiw Ahenakew, Kahkishew Waticiwkamik Ahenakew, Okimaw Kehkek Ahenakew, Kikayasewew, Kikisepa Nimitawastew, Miko Pisim, Osaw-Pisim, Paspiwi Ahenakew, Kihew Ahenakew, Osa Ahenakew, Nipin Ahenakew, Sohki Ahenakew and Silver; his siblings, Garvin Bird (Leatha Bird) of Regina, SK, Peter Bird (Laura Bird) of Ifle, SK, Edward Bird (Patricia Bird) of Cochin, SK, Randy Bird (Dianne Bird) of Cochin, SK, Glenda Bird of North Battleford, SK, Freda Bird of North Battleford, SK, Lynden Bird of Saskatoon, SK and Wanita Bird; and his close friend Gloria Littlebear-Lewis.
