He was predeceased by: his parents, Olga O'Connell and Robert "Burns" O'Connell; his siblings, Robert O'Connell, Pat O'Connell, Bill O'Connell and Betty Bauer; and his father-in-law Robert Herdman.
He is survived by: his wife Kim O'Connell of Debden, SK; his daughter Stacey Nordby (Steven); his grandchildren, Novaleigh, Aveah and Jake of Debden, SK; his son Kyler O'Connell (Alicia); his grandchildren, Dawson, Daja, Kroft and Gunnar of Debden, SK; his daughter Katelin Gjerde (Kris); his grandchildren, Alyssa, Becka and Kohler of Canwood, SK; his daughter Shelbie O'Connell; his pet Bohdi (family: Lorea Tayler, Jayson Tayler) of Leroy, SK; his siblings, Dorothy Milburn (John) of Saskatoon, SK, Delores Bennett of Saskatoon, SK and Gary O'Connell (Debbie) of Saskatoon, SK; his mother-in-law Marlene Herdman; and his sisters-in-law, Tracy Collins (Jerome), Laurie England (Doug) and Janine Collins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the O'Connell family acreage (Mattes Road, 2 miles north of highway 55, east side of the road).
In lieu of tributes, donations may be made in memory of Curt to the Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan (301 – 2550 – 12th Ave Regina, SK S4P 3X1).
