He is survived by: his siblings, Marvin, Sylvia Coleman (Brad) and Laura Simmonds (Tim Derr); his wife Lorraine Coleman (Pischke); his child Donavon Coleman (Colleen); his grandchildren, Ryan Coleman, Eric Coleman (Darby), Robin Schade, Sarah Schade (Daniel) and River; his children, Tiffany (Kyle), Beau and Angela (Jay Ferster); and his grandchildren, Nolan Ferster (Emily Lapierre), Austin Ferster (Mya Sommerfeld) and Taylor Ferster. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

“Sorry to hear of Melvins passing. I have many good memories of working with Mel at Central garage. He helped me overhaul the engine in my first car a 57 chev. We left out some shims on the crankshaft so the engine was seized tight, so we towed it around town to get it started. Mel got me started as a mechanic, I learned a lot from him. Very special guy! Rodney and Theone Barber”
