She was predeceased by: her parents, Violet and Lloyd (Hardy); and her sister Irene. She is survived by: her children, Shauna Piluk (Trevor) and Shane Smith (Janette); her granddaughters, Brittney, Ashley, Courtney and Leah; and her sisters, Isabel and Candace. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Barb's memory to the Canadian Lung Association.
