He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Gelowitz and Annie Gelowitz; his niece Deborah Abday; his nephew Kevin Taillon; his sister Mildred Taillon; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Gelowitz and Denis Taillon.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Josephine Gelowitz; his daughters, Yvonne (Martin), Lisa (Al) and Gloria (Michael); his grandchildren, Cassia (David), Meaghan, Annika (Jake), Kirsten, Kiera, Kaitlin and Ethan; his great grandchildren, Benjamin and Josephine; and his siblings, Freda (Mike), Reinold (Elsie), Joseph (Lillian) and Allan (Pat).
