He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hermanus and Frances Hermanus; his brothers, George and Vernie (Verna); his nephew Emmanuel; and his brother-in-law Dick.

He is survived by: his wife Johanna; his children, Helen, Sandra (J. K.) and Paul (Kim); his grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle, Ashley and Kylie; and his siblings, Ron (Gloria), Olga, Eileen (Gerry) and Ursula. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
