He was predeceased by: his parents, Louisa Bird and John Bird; and his brother Arthur Bird. He is survived by: his children, Danielle, Darnell Jr., Brittany, Winston, Darwin and Carmine; and his siblings, Micheal, Beverly, Karen and Penny. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
