He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Clapson and Evelyn Clapson; his siblings, Marlon Clapson and Gloria Hensel; his son Shawn Clapson; and his granddaughter Hope.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Clapson; his daughters, Brenda Clapson (Dwyan), Jackie Reid (Dan) and Holly Clapson; his nephews, Ken Racette and Gilbert Racette; his sisters, Janice Clapson and Karon Gawryliuk; his grandchildren, Chris Williams (Alana), Kevin Williams, Keith Reid and Jordan Clapson-Lejour; and his great grandchild Cayden Williams.
