Floyd William Young Obituary
Floyd passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the age of 80 years. He was a loving husband, dad, papa, brother and uncle. He was born on November 1, 1944 on his grandparent’s farm in the Parkerview, SK district.
He was predeceased by his twin sons Sheldon and Leslie and Kelly Young; parents Vernon and Matilda Young; brothers Gordon, Rodney and Ralph; sisters Pearl Norwich, Dorothy Moldowan, Rose Kirschman and Frances Wessing; niece Tracey Young; nephew Wayne Wessing; brothers-in-law Joe Wessing, Brian LeBlanc, Norland Larson, Ed Zasteisny and Ed Moldowan and in-laws John and Katie Karmazinuk.
Floyd will be remembered by his wife of 59 years, Lorraine (nee Karmazinuk); daughter Sheila; daughter-in-law Gabriella Melchiorre; grandchildren Kyle (Tamara) Young and Katya Melchiorre; great grandchildren Avery and Reese Young; brother Richard (Marilyn) Young; sisters Hazel LeBlanc, Rita Young and Phyliss Zastrisny.
Floyd and Lorraine married on July 31, 1965. He worked at the mine in Esterhazy from 1964-1966, before moving to Regina, SK to work for Boychuk, Cairns, Dundee for the next 40 years, as a cement finisher. He also owned a gas station and restaurant in Foam Lake, SK.
Floyd loved wrestling, riding his Bobcat, Pats hockey games, dancing, listening to Saturday Night Get Together from Yorkton, SK and spending lots of time with grandchildren Kyle and Katya and great grandchildren Avery and Reese; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Italian Club, 2148 Connaught Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
