He was predeceased by: his parents, Chuck Newis and May Newis; his brother Walter; his nephew Parker McClelland; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Vance, Jim Vinen and Doug Hingley.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Bob and Sandra; his sisters, Eleanor Vinen, Marilyn McClelland, Eileen Vance and Linda Elgren (Ralph); and his sister-in-law Lois Hingley. He is also survived by fourteen nephews and nieces.
