He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Johanson; his parents, Inge Johanson and Juliet Shupak (Nee Jevning); his stepmother Louise Stauber; his father-in-law Joseph Stauber; his stepmother Mary Mertz; his son Robert Johanson; his brother Richard Johanson (Dick); his sister-in-law Heather Johanson; his grandson Jordan Johanson; and his stepsiblings, Arlene Hermann (Gerald Hermann) and Murray Stauber.

He is survived by: his children, Darrell Johanson (Karen), Erin Johanson, Parker Johanson, Darcy Johanson (Anita), Yasmeen Derbas, Ramsey Derbas, Lori Emde (Gary), Brandon Lucyk (Melissa), Breanne Lucyk, Spencer Emde (Tracy), Chloe Emde and Donna Johanson (Clint Lavanway); his sibling Bob Johanson; his siblings-in-law, Diane Johanson and Clifford Stauber (Linda); Kyle Johanson (Kari), Carter Emde (Ashley Easton), Geri Lykkemark (Peter), Gloria Meyers, Audrey Stauber and Leanne Gerspacher (Gene).
