He was predeceased by : his parents, Alexander Brown and Viola Brown; his brothers, Glenn Brown, Edwin Livingstone and Tom Livingstone; and his brothers-in-law, Lorne MacDonald and Dick Elder.

He is survived by : his wife Phyllis; his daughters, Brenda Gardner (Tom) and Leanne Ripplinger (Todd); his grandchildren, Jaimee (Julio), Jorden, Josie Gardner, Brett Rae (Megan), Amie Williams (Travis), Turner and Calder Ripplinger; his great grandchildren, Finlyn and Paxton Williams; and his sisters, Shirley MacDonald and Mildred Elder.
