John Gerald Vicq Obituary

We announce the death of John Gerald Vicq (Regina, Saskatchewan), who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 87. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Vicq and Berta Vicq (Aldcorn); his sister Nan Plaxton; and his brother-in-law Bill Tompkins. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Trina (Jim) and John (Lindi); his grandsons, Jack and Duncan Vicq; his sister Betty Tompkins; his brother-in-law Gordon Plaxton; and his pets, Maggie, Alfie and Arlo. He is also survived by siblings; numerous nieces & nephews.

Along with his U of S colleagues, Jack also made significant contributions to business education programs for Indigenous students.
