He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth; his parents, Philip Kurtz and Katherine Kurtz; his brother Philip Kurtz Jr.; his sister-in-law Anne Kurtz; his sister Mary Neiszner; his brother-in-law John Neiszner; his sister Beth Pugh; his brother-in-law John Pugh; his sisters, Caroline Kurtz and Nellie Jelinski; his brother-in-law Bernard Jelinski; his brother Joe Kurtz; his parents-in-law, Otto Hahnel and Wilhelmina Hahnel; and his siblings-in-law, Steve Schaumleffel, Edith Schaumleffel, Walter Hahnel and Lena Hahnel.

He is survived by: his son Ken (Marjorie); his brother John Kurtz; his sister-in-law Monica Kurtz; his child Earl Grey; and his niece Betty.
