He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; his parents, Joe Matties and Bertha Matties; his siblings, Myrtle Paulson, Fred Matties, Dorothy Wellington and Harold Matties; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Matties and Rodney Broadis.
He is survived by: his children, Dale (Debbie), Dwight (Pam), Charlene (Dale) and Angela (Alan); his grandchildren, Nicole, Justin (Michelle), Devin, Zachary and Abigail; his great grandchild Lucas; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Broadis and Ona Matties. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
