She was predeceased by : her great-grandparents, Jimmy Bigstone and Grace Whitebear; her grandparents, Willie, Mina Pasap and Mary Pewean; her parents, James Maxie and Anna Maxie; her son Meredith Demas; and her siblings, Albert Maxey, Norbert, Cuthbert, Lambert Maxie, Kathleen, Ida, Joyce, Helen and Wilma Maxie.

She is survived by : her former life partner David Sandy; her close friend Wesley McKay; her sisters, Marilyn Maxie, Mari, Cuwiyuiksa and Wanda Sandy; her daughters, Charlotte Kaye, Rogena Demas (Sheldon Bitternose) and Taylen Maxie; her adoptive daughter Molly Lonechild; her sons, Adrian Demas, Prescott Demas (Shannon), John Crawford, Travis Maxie and Christian Maxie (Cub); and her grandchildren, Jennifer Kaye and Jonathan Demas. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
