He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Ethel Smith; and his brothers, Gerald, Marshal and Arnold.
He is survived by: his wife Marie; and his children, Ryan Smith, Carlee Smith, Angel Mcdowel (Ken), Tim Apperley, Marquita Sunley (Ken), Tara Apperley (Robert), Ty Apperley (Deanna) and Tremaine Apperley (Jana). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
