He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Jean and Basil McClarty; his sister Eileen; and his siblings-in-law, Leonard Liebrecht, Bob, Val Beischel, Gordon Birchall and Alex Biro.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Darrell McClarty (Karen), Denise Brears (Bill), Lorne McClarty (Leila), Laurie Anne Eger (Brad Jermyn) and Sheryl McClarty (John Peterson); his sister Vivian Birchall; his sister-in-law Joan Biro; his grandchildren, Jessica Jubinville (Roger), Jenna Bracken (Nolan), Chelsey McNeil (Robin), Alicia Eger, Joel McClarty, Chad Brears (Jen), Amanda Pilon (Derek), Brandon McClarty (Brie), Devon McClarty, Meghan McClarty, Brayden McClarty, Evan McClarty (Kenzie) and Jack Peterson; and his great grandchildren, Marissa, Maisy, Riley, Tenley, Camden, Harper, Asher, Beau and Chloe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
