She was predeceased by: her parents, Cliff Franklin and Marjorie Franklin (Ching); her siblings, Katherin Wolfe (Franklin) and Grant Franklin; and her brothers-in-law, Brian Wolfe and Harold Kilpatrick.

She is survived by: her siblings, Edith Kilpatrick, Crystal Lieverse (Adrian), Dorothy Monaghan (John), Graden Franklin (Lori) and Clair Franklin (Debbie). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins.

Donations in memory of Virlea may be made to the Special Olympics or the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre.
