He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Kot and Barbara Kot. He is survived by: his wife Grace Kot of Regina, SK; his children, Jennifer Kot of Calgary, AB and Adam Kot (Terri); his grandsons, Owen and Lucas of Regina, SK; his siblings, Andrew Kot (Gerry), Paul Kot, Thomas Kot (Nancy), David Kot (Tamara), Patricia Read (Calvin) and Marilyn Kot (Cate Dobhran); his siblings-in-law, Joan Macdonald (Glen), Nora Pegg (Larry), Barbara Armstrong and Philip Wellman (Patricia); and his aunt Dorothy Gaab. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
