It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gianna McDonald in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan, born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, who passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 21, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Jarvis McDonald Sr.; her grandparents, David Caribou, Frances Caribou, Judy Caribou, Theresa Merasty, Charles Caribou, Steven Merasty, Eli Caribou, Mary-Jane McDonald, Mary-Ann McDonald, Louie McDonald and James McDonald Sr.; her great-grandparents, Ralph, Irene McDonald, Paul, Victoria Caribou, Leonard, Adele Ray, Etienne McDonald, Elizabeth Fiddler, Leo and Mary Dumas; her aunts and uncles, Monica Caribou, Rose Dorion, Melanie Dorion, Ruby McDonald, Centanialle McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Russell McDonald and Jason McDonald; her nephews, Baby Bighetty and Ashton Caribou; and her cousins, Jared Merasty, Jasmine Merasty, Toni Natamogan, Dale Merasty and Melody Merasty.
She is survived by: her mother Thelma McDonald (Peter Ray); her daughter Jaylee Emma McDonald-McCallum; her siblings, Chelsea (Arnold), Janae, Galina (William), Gracie, Monica, Kelly, Leah, Gaston (Harmony), Jarvis Jr. and Mario; her grandparents, Mona Caribou, Stanley Ray (Lorraine), Romuald and June Dumas; her aunts and uncles, Georgina, Shawna (Elmer), Elizabeth, Crystal, Skye, Sherilee (Troy), Beverly, Tammy, Amanda (Kurt), Donna, Dorthy, Jody (Nola), Lionel, Gavin, Travis, Leo, Bobby and Richard; her close friend Calvin McCallum Jr.; her in-laws, Calvin Sr. and Vanessa McCallum; and her godparent Demoly Morin. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A prayer was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the River Park Funeral Home (301 River St W, Prince Albert, SK S6V 2Z3). A wake was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 and on Tuesday, November 18th 2025. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church.
