He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Kirchgesner (Diebert) and Michael Kirchgesner; and his siblings, Evelyn, Norma, Alice and Richard.

He is survived by: his wife Lana Lindberg; his grandchildren, Scott (Leanne Nyirfa), Ashleigh, Marty, Lucy, Noah and Payton; his children, Lisa (Carey Friesen), Jonah, Daria, Hayley, Chris (Katherine Churchman), Ava, Lex, Dale (Kari), Everett, Zayn and Ronnie; and his siblings, Ernie, Daniel and Agnes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dad's name to the Cardiac Care Unit at RUH.
