She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry and Mary; and her siblings, Velma Chappel and Alvin Reimer. She is survived by: her husband Larry Brakstad of Saskatoon; her sons, Shaun Brakstad (Colette) of Saskatoon, SK and Wade Brakstad (Cathy) of Surrey, BC; her grandchildren, Jordan Brakstad (Bradon), Jack Okanee (Jenna), Taylor van Driel (Jordan), Mark Brakstad and Jodie Brakstad; and her siblings, Helen Reimer and Len Reimer (Judy).

In lieu of flowers, family would encourage donations to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.
