He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Arie and Alida van Zanten; and his siblings, Francine Vermeer, Alida Knoetse, Antonia Valkenburgh, Adrie van Zanten and Huib van Zanten.

He is survived by: his siblings, Nellie (Plessis) and Arie van Zanten; his wife Elizabeth Ann; and his daughters, Sue and Audrey. He is also survived by his wife, daughters, son in law, grandchildren and all the extended family.
